Well, it’s now Feb. 3 and I’ve got three more nights left in Santiago, which means three more nights of my trip. I am ready to go home. I’ve been ready for a while, especially since I had to kill so much time in the Atacama desert this past week. If I had had my way, I would have gone home either this past weekend, or maybe even the weekend before. But, since all the flights were booked out, I had to wait. I guess it was a good thing since I did get to see the desert (woopdedoo), and I did make myself go to Bolivia which I was hesitant to do because I didn’t want to pay for the visa fee. But, I guess with the way I felt about things, I could have easily been at home and it would have been cheaper at least. And cooler.
Yesterday I killed some time and went to the movie theater to watch Sherlock Holmes. Then, since I was already there and had no other plans, I decided to watch It’s Complicated as well. Both movies were entertaining but I’d have to say I enjoyed the latter better. I guess Sherlock Holmes was fun to watch, but fairly forgettable. I do always enjoy Robert Downey Jr. though. But, sadly, probably not as much as I like Meryl Streep. It makes me feel creepy to be a big fan of hers, especially since everyone else in that movie theater was middle aged and had trouble descending the steps in the dark when the movie finished. But whatever, what can you do? She’s hilarious. The benefit of watching the movies in Chile besides killing time (and beating the heat) is the fact that they were only $5.50 each. Score!
