It came a week late for me but this past Friday was a good day especially since it had nothing to do with Jebus. First, I got an email from a woman who wanted to buy my shoes for $50 which was great because I bought these shoes on a whim, decided I hated them and waited so long to try to return them that I couldn’t even get store credit. Being able to sell them nearly five years later for around the same price I bought them for was one of those minor victories that is slowly making the mess go away.

Dennis and I had plans to hike and grab a late lunch, then Dennis broke those plans only to make them again. When I thought our plans were canceled I was going to head to the library to try to get some more work done but then Dennis called again. At first I was just going to blow off my plans to send out the cover letter I finished Thursday, but decided to tell Dennis to give me an extra 10 minutes to send out my job application. I’m so glad I did because I got a response within 20 minutes and now have a phone call scheduled for next week. Not bad considering I cold emailed for a job that didn’t even exist.

Hiking took place at Rancho San Antonio simply because it was the only place I knew how to get to. It was much emptier on a Friday afternoon than a weekend morning so there were zero parking hassles. Did the Wild Cat Loop trail and at one point when we stopped so Dennis could take a break, which he masked as a moment to enjoy nature, and saw this lady with ridiculously large boobs running down a trail, grabbing them because her bra was clearly useless. This face captures the moment perfectly.

After doing a roughly six mile hike Dennis and I headed to Le Boulanger where he got an almond danish, and I got a spinach and mushroom croissant. The best thing about hiking is grabbing something to eat afterward. Even if it isn’t exactly the best thing for you.

The day out of the house ended with a walk to buy two lottery tickets for the $90 million jackpot. I won $0 but still, it was a pretty good Friday.
