Okay, I confess: I think Joseph Gordon-Levitt is really cute. If you had asked me this 10 or 15 years ago I would have said, “Oh hell no!” and it wouldn’t have been a lie. Back in the day I couldn’t understand why people thought he was cute and chalked up his Teen Bop status to the machine cranking out hot boyz left and right. I also found the long hair he sported in 3rd Rock from the Sun (never watched) to be gross and even though I had read he hated that hairstyle, I couldn’t see past it.
This cute revelation is not something new. I’m confessing it now because I just watch Uncertainty, so it’s somewhat timely. But it was probably his role in Mysterious Skin, an Interview article and his HitRecord.org site that moved me from hate to intrigue to eventual love (not there yet). For starters, I think I find him attractive because he’s a talented and versatile actor who chooses interesting movies to star in. Also, he has a really cute smile and just seems really sweet. Ever seen 500 Days of Summer? It could be his indie movie choices, or the fact that he’s a skinny white boy, who knows? All I know is the more movies I watch him in, the more I want to see, and I’ll readily admit that my interest in him goes beyond his acting.
